Short bio of Mina Rad in English in 2023
Mina Rad is a French documentary filmmaker, producer, festivals director and member of jury, critic of cinema and organiser of international seminars.
She studied history and communication at the University of Sorbonne in Paris. After 12 years of international journalism, she became a documentary filmmaker and has directed more than eleven films.
Her first film “For Me the Sun Never Sets” was awarded the prize for best documentary at the Cinema Verity Film Festival in Tehran in 2012.
Mina Rad’s film making and all other initiatives are about the preservation and restitution of cultural heritage. Her films are telecast widely and shown at festivals as well as anthropology conferences across the world.
She has created « International documentary Film Festival Apresvaran, on the step of Jean Rouch » in Paris and also a global documentary network.
